My mom use to make those cookies every Christmas. She would make the peanut butter cookies then roll them in sugar and after they came out of the oven and cooled a little while, she would place a Hershey’s kiss in the center of them.

They are called
Peanut Blossoms
1/2 cup Shortening
3/4 cup Peanut butter
1/3 cup Sugar
1/3 cup Packed brown sugar
1 Egg
2 tablespoons Milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 1/2 cups Unsifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Baking soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
Granulated sugar
9 ounces Package Hershey’s Kisses — about 48
Cream shortening and peanut butter; add sugar and brown sugar. Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture, blending thoroughly. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in granulated sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet; bake at 375 degrees F. for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven; immediately place unwrapped Kiss on top of each cookie, pressing down so that cookie cracks around the edge. Remove from cookie sheet; cool. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.

Peanut Butter Kisses
1 1/3 C. flour
1 t. soda
1/2 t. salt
1/2 C. Crisco
1/2 C. peanut butter
1/2 C. sugar
1/2 C. brown sugar
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
2 T. milk
Hershey’s Kisses Candy unwrapped
1/3 C. white sugar to roll cookies in.
Mix crisco, peanut butter, sugars together and cream well. Add egg, vanilla and milk. Mix well. Add flour, soda and salt. Mix well.
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Roll cookie dough in a ball about the size of a walnut. Roll in a dish containing 1/3 C. white sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake about 10 minutes.
As soon as they come out of the oven place a Kiss in the center of each cookie, pressing in it just a little. Remove from sheet and cool on a rack.

You can use any recipe for the kiss cookie. Peanut butter, choc.chip etc. Just prior to baking, insert a kiss into the batter and bake accordingly

I made them when my kids were little. I just made peanut butter cookies, rolled them in a ball and into some sugar. Then top it with a chocolate kiss. Awesome!
